South Carolina Baptist Women in Ministry named Rev. Carrie Nettles as the 2025 Baptist Woman Minister of the Year.
The award honors Rev. Nettles’ groundbreaking and compassionate ministry—from serving as the first chaplain at a Child Advocacy Center in the nation, to co-creating the When Faith Hurts conference, equipping faith leaders to better protect and serve children.
Rev. Nettles is not only a board-certified chaplain and fierce child advocate—she’s also a mentor, friend, mother, and beacon of hope to families navigating trauma. As Amber Blackwell Childers shared in her tribute, “Carrie inspires all who know her to be better humans, better ministers, and better friends.”
We celebrate Carrie’s faithful, fearless witness and unwavering commitment to justice, healing, and hope.
