Bridge: Young Adult Ministry

FBG Bridge

Community for Young Adults

I’m a young adult in my 20s and 30s looking for community – where do I belong? Meet FBG’s ministry for young adults: FBG Bridge!

We’re a collection of young adults of all flavors: some partnered, some single; some with kids, some childfree; some in school, some in the workforce. We meet during the week for meals, outdoor adventures, and fun. Beginning in January 2025, we’ll meet on Sunday mornings during the Sunday School hour for Bible study. Whether you grew up at FBG, are reconnecting with faith, or exploring church for the first time, you are welcome with us.

Come as you are, with all you are!

Sunday morning bridge bible study

Beginning January 12, 2025, Bridge will meet in the Media Center (Library) on Sunday mornings for Bible study. Our first topic will be the cultural context of Jesus in first century Galilee. Conversations are informal and nuanced, and diverse perspectives, honest doubts and big questions are encouraged. BYOBreakfast or grab a cup of coffee across the hall!

College Ministry

College students and college-age folks are important to the life and ministry of First Baptist Greenville! Whether you grew up in this congregation, you came to the Upstate for undergrad or grad school, or are college-age and working in the area, we want to help you find community and belonging. We offer events specifically for our college-age community during holiday and summer breaks.

Academic Scholarships

Scholarships are available for undergrad and graduate students.

The Scholarship Committee of First Baptist Greenville serves as the primary recipient of gifts from generous church members and friends, or by their heirs as memorials for loved ones, who have left funds to assist students in their education. The committee exists to evaluate qualified individuals who are church members and/or friends of church members seeking financial assistance in pursuing an undergrad or seminary degree by granting them academic scholarships.

First Baptist has four primary distribution funds from which academic scholarships may be awarded, each of which was established with its own criteria. For questions concerning applications please contact Sarah Carter.
