Dear FBG friends,
I was so very proud of my church’s staff on April 25! You all served in critical roles to make the CBFSC General Assembly event at FBG an effective gathering, a wonderful time of fellowship, of learning, and of worship. In my conversations with old and new friends, they were complimentary of both the experience and the staff, and of our volunteer church members.
I sincerely appreciate all the hard work that went on “behind the scenes” for many weeks. In my experience as the chair of the planning team, I have seen that’s exactly what it takes—staff and volunteers committed to making the event an impressive, excellent, inspiring experience. You did it. Preparation ahead of time—by moving tables, preparing possible tech needs, getting signage ready, enlisting volunteers, anticipating guests’ needs, embracing a variety of roles in leading worship, helping to guide guests in the right direction, leading breakout sessions, introducing people to each other all day, and, in general, making First Baptist Greenville a warm, welcoming, friendly, beautiful, uplifting place.
Proud! Grateful! Thank you!
—Fred DeFoor, Interim Minister of Music and Worship
