It has been said ‘the devil is in the details.’ I would hate for the devil to receive all the accolades for the important ministry of administrative detail! Giving credit where credit is due, I’d like to thank our church’s Retreat Committee and our Church Operations Coordinator – Jenna Manning – for paying close attention to the details.
Most of you know our annual church retreat is being held Friday, March 1 – Sunday, March 3, but if you’re still wondering about some details, let me share a few with you: The primary venue for the retreat is the Westin Poinsett in downtown Greenville. Our Friday evening Welcome Party will be held there from 7:00pm – until. Appetizers will be served during the Welcome Party. The evening’s entertainment will be provided by the self-described outstanding R&B/Funk band – Cappuccino Funk. Saturday sessions, led by musical artist Kate Campbell and me, will held be at the Westin as well. Session 1 is at 10:00am and Session 2 begins at 1:00pm. We have access to the hotel ballroom as early as 9:00am. Coffee and space for conversation will be provided prior to Session 1. (Breakfast foods are not provided.) Lunch is provided at the hotel between sessions. Childcare for infants through fifth grade will be provided at the church on Saturday. Drop your children off prior to Session 1 and pick them up promptly after session 2. Our final gathering will be Sunday morning, March 3. This gathering will be at the church campus. We will assemble in the Sanctuary at 10:30am – our normal worship hour – for our final session of retreat. As a reminder, we will have Sunday School that morning.
If you have any other questions, feel free to call the church office. We don’t want the devil or any lack of detail to keep you from participating and enjoying yourself. If you haven’t registered, it’s not too late. Go online to https://firstbaptistgreenville.com/churchwide-retreat/ and register today. See you there.
