It was a common refrain during the pandemic-laden days of 2020. We miss gathering. People missed gathering in restaurants, in theaters, at concerts, at weddings, at dinner parties, and of course, at church. Gatherings are beneficial—essential—to our personal psychological health and the health of our community. In the coming months, we are focusing our thoughts and actions on the rebuilding of the church. An essential component of this effort will be the simple act of gathering. It allows us to ‘get to know one another’ again and also become acquainted with new members who have joined us.
In addition to our regular gathering for worship, Sunday School, committee meetings, mission education and musical rehearsals, we’re inviting the church membership—the whole church membership—to these special events:
Thursday, September 9, 6:00pm
Fall Kick-off Gathering
Yee Haw Brewing Company
A Celebration of Our Past and Our Future
Wednesday, September 15, 6:15pm
Kyle Matthews in Concert
A MidWeek Gathering Celebration
Sunday, October 3, 6:30pm
Blessing of the Pets
Sunday, October 24, 4:00pm
Annual Churchwide Picnic
Sunday, December 19, 6:30pm
Christmas Candlelight Service
I hope you will put each of these on your calendar. Be present as we rebuild friendships, rebuild community, and rebuild the church.
