We said “See ya later!” to our seniors at Unidiversity. Then we turned around and said “Welcome!” to our new class of sixth graders at our Merge Retreat. Merge is a 24-hour retreat designed to introduce the rising sixth graders to the Youth Family. It gives them an opportunity to find their feet before the school year begins, and it gives our rising seniors an opportunity to try on their new roles as leaders of the group. We spent time discussing what the Youth Family looks like, the important role our sixth graders play in the Youth Family, and working together as a team to overcome obstacles on a low-ropes course. It was a great retreat, and Mary Carol and I are very excited about everything these sixth graders are bringing to this family.
