The Peace Center | Sunday, June 9 | 5:00pm

When the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus (SFGMC) Lavender Pen Tour brought them to First Baptist Greenville, we laughed, cried, worshiped and inadvertently became a powerful witness to the love God. The welcome our church extended the chorus has had a lasting influence in our lives, their lives and now the lives of many others in the world!

Gay Chorus, Deep South premiered last week at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York. This week, it is being shown in Portland, Switzerland, Australia and is scheduled for almost 30 other film festivals.

Here’s what the critics have said,

“This film is an emotional masterpiece that must be seen – if for nothing else, it will restore your sense of hope in the world. One of the best films of 2019!”

“There wasn’t a dry eye in the house.”

“One of the truly great films of 2019. This film put me somewhere beyond words as tears streamed down my cheeks.”

Tickets are available at www.peacecenter.org for the June 9 show. Following the movie, the film’s director (David Rodrigues), the SFGMC artistic director (Tim Seelig) and I will take the stage for a short Q&A followed by a reception in Genevieve’s. Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy a film (you may be in it!) and continue our positive witness of God’s love in this community.
