Before I began as your senior pastor, the Personnel Committee and Jenna Manning, Director of Church Operations, had been working toward an important goal: hiring someone to help enhance our church’s communication efforts. First Baptist offers so many wonderful events, ministries and avenues to serve; we want to do a better job of sharing about these opportunities to learn, grow and serve God and invite members of the community to come and experience all we have to offer. I am delighted to announce that we have hired a Content Creator to join our team—Savannah French! Savannah will play a crucial role in enhancing our communication efforts. She will produce and manage content for digital and print platforms, including social media, newsletters, email campaigns, banners and promotional graphics. Additionally, she will promote sermon series, special events, and ministry initiatives, helping us connect more effectively with our congregation and the wider community. I hope you will join me in welcoming her.
Hello, everyone! Over the last four years, I’ve worked full-time with a group of nonprofits, developing social media plans, creating digital content, and implementing internal and external communication strategies. First Baptist has been such a blessing to our family, and I’m grateful to play a part in sharing information to help everyone feel as welcomed as we have over the past two years. When I’m not working, I love baking (especially with sourdough), spending time with family and friends, crafting and thrifting!

One more important note about Savannah: She will spend a few hours a week serving as my Ministry Assistant. This will allow Jenna Manning to further live into her role as Director of Church Operations. To facilitate this much-needed change, Jenna will be moving to a new office, room number B403.
Finally, as I shared a few weeks ago, we have officially formed the search committee to find our next Minister of Music and Worship; committee members are Greg Crowe, Robert Farrar, Jane Morlan, Wesley Smith, Pam Jones and Beverly Lambert. I am happy to share that the search is now open. The job listing is on the church website and is being posted on other relevant platforms. We are ready to begin receiving resumes! Please keep this important process in your prayers as we seek the right person to lead our music and worship ministries.
