Thanks to your generosity, I am excited to share that we ended 2024 with a surplus of $191,670! This surplus means our giving and income exceeded our expenses for the year. This will allow us to do additional ministry in the community and care for our facilities in ways that would have been beyond our reach. With input from me and the Leadership Team—comprising the chairs of Property, Finance and Personnel, and our Deacon officers—the Finance Committee has allocated the surplus as follows:

• $8,153 to the Lula Wilden Offering for Global Missions, helping us reach our 2024 goal of $100,000.

The remaining surplus of $183,517 (after the Lula Wilden Offering) has been allocated as follows:

• $36,703 (20%) to Missions, to meet local, regional or global needs, which will be distributed by the Missions Committee.
• $18,352 (10%) to General Church Reserves, strengthening our ability to address unforeseen needs or seize new unexpected opportunities.
• $128,462 (70%) for much-needed repairs and upkeep around our campus, managed by the Property Committee.

You may be curious about the significant investment in our facilities. The Property Committee maintains a list of essential repairs on our church campus – the list is long! Many of these projects are expensive, often beyond what is possible with our regular budget. Without surplus funds, they would likely require taking out a loan or doing a capital campaign. However, in 2024, we were able to replace the roof of the Sanctuary, a major item on our property needs list, thanks to budget surplus from 2023! By setting aside a portion of these surplus funds for church upkeep, we ensure that our church remains a safe, well-maintained and welcoming place for ministry and community for years to come. We will update you on which project the Property Committee will tackle this year!

Thank you for your continued faithfulness in giving. Your generosity enables us to do more ministry, meet more needs, and confidently prepare for the future.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Carol
