We all long for connection with one another, within a community where we belong, and for a sense of meaning at the beginning of a new year. Epiphany Sunday at First Baptist offers these gifts, and we hope you will be part of it!
We will begin the new year together with a hot, church-wide breakfast during the Sunday School hour, from 9:15 AM until 10:15 AM on Sunday, January 4. This breakfast offers an opportunity to deepen your connections with other First Baptist folks. It will also replace regular Sunday School for the day (for both children and adults) and serves as our one shared gathering before worship. There will also be no Worship Care during the Sunday School hour.
The menu includes scrambled eggs, hash brown casserole, buttermilk and blueberry pancakes, sausage, bacon, and fruit. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children (ages 10 and under). Please register and prepay on Realm by December 31. Meals are guaranteed only for those who register by the deadline. Do you have family or friends visiting for the holidays? Guests are welcome and may be registered in advance on Realm.
After breakfast, we will worship together and celebrate Epiphany, the day that marks the end of the Christmas season. One of the most meaningful parts of Epiphany Sunday is the way we worship across generations. Our children and youth are invited to help lead worship through a special processional of stars and lights, reminding us of Christ’s light shining in the world. Children and youth attending the Epiphany Breakfast will leave the Fellowship Hall together at 10:00 AM. You may also meet us in the Sanctuary at 10:05 AM to ensure we have plenty of time to practice before worship begins.
Begin your year by reconnecting with First Baptist friends, old and new, and join us for breakfast, worship, and the celebration of Christ’s light among us.
