EA Hike- Beech Bottom Falls in the Jocassee Gorges

Have you ever had a picnic on the highest peak in South Carolina? If not, here is your chance. The Engaged Aging group is sponsoring a hike to Beech Bottom Falls in the Jocassee Gorges this August. The Beech Bottom Falls trail (blazed trail over uneven ground with roots and rocks) is a 2.2 miles RT moderate hike with 400’ elevation gain.  After our hike, we will ride to the top of Sassafras Mountain (elevation 3500 feet) for a picnic lunch together (bring your own lunch).

• Meet at 9:00am at First Baptist to ride the church bus ($5).

• If you are planning on driving separately, meet at 10:15am at the Beech Bottom Falls trailhead on F Van Clayton highway north of Rocky Bottom in Pickens County.

• Please pack a lunch.

• We plan to return to First Baptist Greenville by 3:00pm
