This year’s Advent Sunday School series for adults begins Sunday, November 30. The four-week series will meet on Sunday mornings in the Fellowship Hall at 9:30am. The series will explore the birth story of Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew with an emphasis on the latter half of the story. What happens to Jesus, Mary and Joseph after Jesus is born? Matthew 2 tracks the Holy Family’s escape to Egypt to flee a violent regime, their time as migrants and refugees, and eventual return to Galilee. Each Sunday, we will study a section of Matthew 2 and learn from Greenville nonprofit leaders advocating and supporting people living through similar situations today.
Dive deeper into the whole story of Jesus’ birth as we anticipate the coming of Christ Emmanuel, God with us. Come early for coffee at 9:15am or for the lesson at 9:30am. All adults in the congregation and community are invited to participate.
