Trying a new church can feel uncertain. At FBG, you are welcomed as you are—not as an exception, but as part of who we are.
Worship is at the heart of our life together. On Sundays you’ll find a service shaped by scripture, sacred music, and thoughtful preaching. We follow the rhythms of the Christian year and draw from the deep stream of Baptist and Christian tradition, while making room for questions and honest reflection.
Whether you come on your own or with your family, we hope you’ll feel at ease here.
Sunday School offers a smaller setting for conversation and connection. Classes are available for every age, from infants through adults. Greeters and staff at the Welcome Center can help you find a class that fits your stage of life.
Our weekly service includes congregational singing, choral music, prayer, and a sermon grounded in scripture. An Order of Worship is provided to guide you.
Children are welcome in worship. Nursery care is available for infants through age three. Four- and five-year-olds begin in the Sanctuary and are invited to age-appropriate worship in the Carpenter Chapel following the Children’s Refelction. Children in grades 1-5 remain in the Sanctuary and may pick up a worship bag in the Narthex.
During the school year, MidWeek provides space to slow down and reconnect.
Children and youth have their own age-appropriate programs during this time. Details and current offerings are available on the calendar.
FBG is a Baptist church shaped by Christian tradition and grounded in scripture, with room for questions and a range of perspectives. We believe every person is made in the image of God and is fully welcome here—whatever your background or identity. In worship and in daily life, we seek to love God with our whole selves, love our neighbors without condition, and live that love in ways that change us and the world.
We offer active ministries for infants through 12th grade. Safety is a priority, and all staff and volunteers working with children and youth complete training, background checks, and screening through our Protecting Our Children process. A full overview of policies is available upon request.
Visit our Children’s and Youth pages to learn more.
Guest parking is reserved at the base of the steeple. Enter from Cleveland Street and look for marked “Welcome Visitors” spaces. On Sunday mornings, someone will be outside to greet you and direct you inside.
Our children’s ministry and nursery hallways are secured using a door code system. Each family receives their own unique door code that enables them to access these hallways during typical programming times. Families who do not yet have a code can utilize the doorbell located outside the hallway door. If you would like to request a code for your family, you can speak to any of our Children’s Ministry staff or volunteers.
Nursery care is available for infants and toddlers 3 years and under during both Sunday School and worship.
Children ages 4K–5th grade attend Sunday School at 9:15am. Afterward, they join their families in worship. Four and five-year-olds transition to the Carpenter Chapel after the Children’s Refecltion. First through fifth graders remain in the Sanctuary and may use worship bags available in the Narthex.
We use Realm Connect for secure check-in. Check-in kiosks are located in the Narthex, the Children’s Hall, and the Nursery Hall. After registering, you will receive a child name tag and a guardian receipt for pickup.
Students in grades 6–12 participate in Sunday School, Sunday worship and gather for Bible study on Wednesday and Sunday evenings. More details are available on the Youth page.

Communion at FBG is open to everyone. Most often the bread and cup are passed through the congregation, though at times we receive Communion by intinction.
At First Baptist Greenville, we believe every person is created in the image of God and worthy of love, dignity, and belonging. In every part of our church’s life and ministry—including membership, baptism, ordination, marriage, teaching, and leadership on committees or ministry teams — we do not discriminate based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
FBG is located at the intersection of Cleveland Street and Faris Road, less than ten minutes from downtown Greenville.
