EA Hike- Sassafras Mountain Overlook

Let’s take a hike to Sassafras Mountain Overlook, the highest peak in South Carolina, elevation 3500 feet. On the way we’ll stop to hike to Beech Bottom Falls in the Jocassee Gorges.

The Beech Bottom Falls trail is a 2.2 miles RT moderate hike with 400′ elevation gain.

Please plan to pack a lunch for this excursion.

To carpool or ride the church bus, we will leave First B at 9:00am meet at 10:00am at the Beech Bottom Falls trailhead on F. Van Clayton highway north of Rocky Bottom in Pickens County ( a 1-hour drive from FBG). We should be back at FBG by 3:00pm.
