We celebrated Engaged Aging (“EA”) Sunday in worship on April 19. Engaged Aging is a term we use to talk about our ministry to and with our median and senior adults. Our Engaged Aging ministry strives to offer vibrant opportunities to build community and deepen faith throughout these years. Together, we’re exploring new ways to embrace life, faith and connection during these meaningful chapters. Our Engaged Aging service is one of ways we highlight the service and ministry of those within our EA community and continue to celebrate the life and gifts they offer our church family.

Thank you to all who helped make our Engaged Aging service meaningful, for those who led in worship, those who taught our Youth in Sunday School, those who turned in “Fun Facts,” and those who worked behind the scenes to bring everything together; our service would not have been the same without you. Special thanks to Mary Louise Green, whom we did not get to recognize on Sunday morning, but whose work with our monthly Engaged Aging Newsletter is enjoyed by so many. The Engaged Aging ministry was proud to honor Frank Smith during our service specifically for his work with creating and growing the Yard Sale fundraiser to support our Neighborhood Partnership ministries, but also for his lasting impact on so many in our church family and beyond.
If you would like to know more about our Engaged Aging ministry. I would love to talk with you. I encourage you to check out our website, or even better, join us for one of our events or trips. We look forward to discovering all the ways God is building this community and engaging them together.
—Michael McEntyre, Minister of Engaged Aging

“Being a part of this church has enriched my life and taught me that no matter what age you are, there is a place of service and belonging for you here. If that resonates with you, I encourage you to come be a part of the engaging work of First Baptist.”
