There’s something special about carrying a piece of church, home, into your everyday life. In 2024, the Garden Friends, which is a group dedicated to helping tend and beautify the church grounds, divided the irises around our church campus, a process that keeps them healthy and blooming. Rather than let those extra bulbs go to waste, they were shared with the congregation. Many of us took some home and planted them in our own gardens. Since then, mine have taken root and multiplied! This year, they were lovely.
It brings a smile to my face every time I walk past them in my yard. They remind me of the life we share together—the worship of God, caring for one another and serving together. What started as a simple act of caring for the flowers around campus grew into a beautiful reminder of our church family right outside my door.
P.S. If you didn’t get any irises, they will need to be divided again in a couple of years!
