Some of the best things that happen at First Baptist Greenville happen out of sight. They are the interpersonal, off-campus, or confidential ministries of self-care and caring for others. They are powerful and beautiful! If you only come to worship on Sundays, you might never know about the very things we are praying about, giving offerings to support, and attending committee meetings to administrate. We hope to address that problem by dedicating the weekend of January 25-26 to the “World Within,” the self-care and caregiving ministries of the church. On Saturday, we will have multiple opportunities for those vitally important self-care needs we often procrastinate about:
- Mind and Body Care
- The Best Gift You Can Give Your Family: Preparing for the End of Life
- Marriage Enrichment
- Tending to Your Grief
- Addiction Recovery: AA and
- Al-anon
A registration fee of $10 covers all costs and lunch for the Saturday Seminars.
On Saturday evening, we will provide dinner and respite care for members who are caring for people with special needs at home. This Caregiver Respite Dinner will include a delicious meal, chair and hand massages, a quiet room, art and game tables, and fellowship—all free gifts to those among us who are caring for others. The registration page will include a place for you to nominate caregivers you know.
Worship on Sunday, January 26, will be devoted to these themes as well. The Narthex will be filled with a Ministry Fair where you can meet these member-ministries and find out how to both receive care and how to participate in care-giving through…
- Stephen Ministry
- Congregational Care Visitors
- Knit One, Crochet Two
- Centering Prayer Group
- LGBTQi Support Group
- Addiction Recovery: AA and
- Al-Anon support groups
- Transportation Ministries: Worship, Medical appointments, Golf carts
- Delivery Ministries: Bereavement Meals, Flowers to Friends, MidWeek Meals
- Counseling
