Each year, our Youth Family focuses on a central theme for study and projects. This year’s theme was “Re:Imagine.” Together, we’ve been reimagining who God is, where God is leading us, and how we might join in the work God is already doing in the world. During Youth Sunday Worship, we shared these powerful words:
“In a world full of noise, we pray for clarity. In a world that seeks conformity, we pray for transformation. In a world of division, we pray for unity. In a world of despair, we pray for hope. In a world of darkness, we pray for courage.”

What a beautiful message on which to reflect as we Re:Imagine how we can partner with God’s work in the world!

Our youth not only confidently led us in worship through music, with strings, piano and singing, but they also challenged us through homilies, scripture readings, children’s reflections and prayers. They served us communion and collected our tithes and offerings. Our Youth Family didn’t just lead—they modeled how to gather in our most sacred space, smiling and encouraging one another to show up as our authentic selves. The congregation embraced this spirit by welcoming a youth who professed their faith and requested baptism.

If you attended the service, you may have noticed the beautiful letters displayed in front of the communion table. These letters were created by our youth during the 2024 Fall Retreat. Youth were asked to bring an item that represented their authentic selves. Our youth painted the letters and affixed each item, creating a stunning representation of our theme, Re:Imagine.

This congregation is the reason our Youth Family continues to thrive and grow in faith. I was raised in this community and Youth Family, and now, I take great pride in hearing what our youth have to say about themselves. Thank you for providing a space for our youth to lead and teach us during worship. I’ve already received wonderful feedback, and I encourage you to share your thoughts with our youth as well!
