CANTERBURY COUNSELING CENTER’S 3RD ANNUAL ILLUMINATION LUNCHEON

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, NOON, CHRIST CHURCH EPISCOPAL PARISH HOUSE

We are very lucky in the Greenville community to have good options for mental health and pastoral counseling. One such organization that does this good work in our community, and of which we are a “partner church,” is Canterbury Counseling. Canterbury Counseling started as a ministry of Christ Church Episcopal and has continued to grow throughout the years in both outreach and number of qualified counselors on staff. By working on a sliding scale fee, they enable any person who needs counseling to receive it. Money is not an obstacle to receiving good mental health counseling or pastoral counseling at Canterbury. In order to do this good work, they host the Illumination Luncheon hoping to “shine light on the good work of Canterbury.” The purpose of the luncheon is two-fold: first, they hope to educate more folks in our community to the type of counseling services that are available at Canterbury, often by inviting a current or former client to tell their own story of their counseling at Canterbury, and second, to raise funds to enable Canterbury to continue to provide quality counseling on a sliding scale fee, making it affordable for all. If you would be interested in attending this luncheon to learn more about the work of Canterbury, I invite you to come as my guest and sit at my table – I proudly serve on the board of Canterbury currently. Please call me (233-2527 ext. 104), email me (kendra.plating@firstbaptistgreenville.com), or stop me in the hall to let me know you’d like to attend. Look forward to seeing you there!
