I write to share that I am planning to retire from the Minister of Music and Worship position this summer. I have been thinking of retirement for the past year or so but thought it would be best to wait until we had a new Senior Pastor. It has not been an easy decision because I love working here with our gifted staff, our wonderful congregation, and especially our Sanctuary Choir. When I first came to First Baptist in 2008, I fell in love with the Sanctuary Choir after about five minutes. This dedicated group of people who share their time and talents week after week continues to inspire me, and I cherish their friendships.
Having the opportunity to work here and cross paths with the incredible people here has been a blessing in my life. Thank you for your strong support for our Music Ministry and for your care and love for me and my family.
Sunday, July 14 will be my last Sunday leading in worship. I am happy to work with our staff to make the transition as smooth as possible.
Blessings,
Vivian Hamilton,
Minister of Music and Worship
With heartfelt gratitude, we extend our thanks for Vivian’s sixteen years of dedicated ministry at First Baptist. Vivian’s presence within our congregation has been a blessing, offering us the invaluable gift of consistent, steadfast leadership over a long tenure. Her love for music, her remarkable skill as a conductor, and her unwavering dedication to God have enriched our worship experiences immeasurably. In honor of her service, we will be collecting a love offering. Please watch for a letter from the church with more information. We also plan to host a reception to commemorate Vivian’s outstanding ministry among us. Stay tuned for forthcoming details regarding this event.
