MinisTREE Time

So much has changed due to COVID-19, but we are happy that FBG will still celebrate Christmas with our MinisTREE this year. In partnership with United Ministries, we will provide presents to make Christmas brighter for families in the IHN network and other families in our community. Look for the tree in the Reception Area on Tuesday, December 1!

This year there are two ways to participate:

1) You may stop by the church, choose an ornament from the tree, and then return your unwrapped gift by Tuesday, December 15.

2) You may select a gift from our online wish list. All gifts will need to be shipped or dropped off at the church no later than December 15. We will publish the link in the November 16 issue of The Branch…so you can shop early!

Please contact me via email or at ext 111 with any questions.

Root & Rebound

Root & Rebound Reentry Advocates is a non-profit that works with formerly incarcerated people who have legal issues and other direct service needs. Their mission is “to restore power and resources to the families and communities most harmed by mass incarceration through legal advocacy, public education, policy reform and litigation.” This year, Root & Rebound would like to send holiday cards to approximately 900 incarcerated men at Perry Correctional Institution, and they are looking for volunteers to help write these letters. Cards will be available for distribution in the Reception Area of the church between November 2 and 16. Please pick one up (or more than one!) along with guidelines for what can and cannot be included in each card and return to the same location. Email me with any questions.
