Spring is bringing fresh energy and exciting updates to the AYMC! If you’ve stopped by recently, you may have noticed the refinished main gym floor—giving our space a clean, renewed feel just in time for a new season of activity.
We’re counting our spring blessings as we anticipate a Fitness Center Refresh in May, when new cardio and fitness equipment will be arriving! This upgrade will enhance your workout experience with more variety, improved functionality and something for everyone—whether you’re just getting started or looking to level up your routine. Some of the new features will include a Smith machine, dual cable station, recumbent elliptical (NuStep machine), a stair master, and a Peloton bike.
And speaking of getting started, I am looking for 2-3 ladies who are interested in piloting a workout program with me that I’m calling Spring Squads (because who doesn’t need a squad to support them in their fitness goals?!). The concept is that small groups of 2-4 people will meet once a week, at a time that works best for them, to work out together, encourage each other, and hold each other accountable (because who doesn’t need friends to hold them accountable?!). Using a workout split created by our personal trainers, squads will follow the program for 6-8 weeks, once a week together and the other days on our own schedule. The progressive overload program will be designed to focus on lifting weights to build consistency, strength and confidence over time. We will add in a dash of cardio and lean in to how fun it is to work out with friends! It’s simple, structured and most importantly, done in community with others.
If you’ve been looking for just the right time to join the fun at the AYMC, and just in time to be the first to enjoy the new equipment, this is the perfect opportunity! If you’ve got a friend who wants to do it, too, BONUS! I will be participating in the pilot because even I need some support getting back into a steady lifting routine (I’ve got a full-time job these days, so you know how that is!). Everyone is encouraged to express interest in a squad because I’m hoping this pilot will lead to SUMMER SQUADS for all!
Ladies, let’s do this! All you need to do is reach out to me in person at the AYMC, by email, or call 846.233.2527 ext 122. Let’s get moving together this spring!
