Even though 2021 has continued our pandemic present, exciting things have been happening in the world of special needs for our church—both on and off the church campus!
On March 8, the Lula Whilden Missions Circle got together in the Parlor and created six “weighted lap buddies” for the St. Francis Class (“home base” class for those with special needs). These weighted stuffed animals will be available for those who would like calming sensory input when participating in church activities!
Friends and family from the St. Francis class got together for a game of putt putt outside at McPherson Park on March 6. It was so great to get together in person, masked and outside, for some fellowship! We also collected gifts of fruit for United Ministries. A fun time was had by all!
As we are able to gather in person more and more, volunteers will be needed in the coming weeks! If you are interested in being a “buddy,” please contact me. Thank you!
