We need more singers this fall! During the past year when our church was closed to in-person services, our choirs were not able to meet in person for some time. First Baptist has a long-standing tradition of a thriving choral music program, and we have resumed in-person singing for age 3 through grade 5 on Wednesday evenings, Vocare rehearsals for grades 6-12 on Sundays at 4pm, and Sanctuary Choir rehearsals on Wednesday evenings at 7pm.
Our Music Ministry offerings for preschool, children and youth (Vocare) allow participants to learn to lead in worship through music as they learn theology through songs and hymns. Children gain musical skills through playing games, singing hymns and anthems, and playing instruments. Through our Music Ministry offerings, children and youth build skills for a lifetime of making music, praising God through music, and participating in worship.
Singing in the Sanctuary Choir here in our church is an opportunity for singers and musicians to be leaders in worship through music and be actively involved in the liturgy that strengthens our faith and opens our hearts to God. Being part of the choir is also a good way to build connections in our community of faith. We are working on beautiful music for this fall and the Advent/Christmas season. Our choir is a dedicated group who share their voices to give people hope, peace and joy in this sacred place. Our Sanctuary Choir is vaccinated and wearing masks during the current times, so we can sing safely. If you or members of your family are interested in singing, this fall is a good time to get involved.
For more information on any of our Music Ministry offerings, be in touch with us. We look forward to hearing from you!
