We are excited to offer our first annual Music Camp: Sing, Play, Rejoice! There are plenty of spots available and we have now opened camp to include children who have completed first through fifth grades!

August 1-4, children who have completed grade 1-5 can participate in choir rehearsals, learn to play choir chimes, Orff instruments and musical games. Each day, we will meet from 9:00am-12:00noon, and on Thursday night, the participants will share what they’ve learned during an informal performance at 7:00pm. We also plan to have the children and youth sing in worship on Sunday, August 7.

We will also have a youth element to the week. Youth who have completed grades 5-12 can participate in the afternoon choral workshop and musical activities from 2:00-4:00pm. Plans are still being made for this exciting time!

Our music camp will take place in memory of Jane Stelling who loved music with both children and youth, working with both in our congregation and community. A fund in her memory was established to share her love of music with generations to come, defraying the cost of this camp to make it available to more in our congregation and community.

We are very pleased that Victor Johnson will join us as our guest choral director. Victor, a native of Dallas, Texas, is the School Choral Editor for Sing!, the educational publishing division of Choristers Guild. A prolific composer and arranger, he has over 350 choral works, vocal solo books, and keyboard collections currently in print. He is in demand as a guest conductor, adjudicator, and clinician for music educators and students throughout the United States.

The cost for the camp is $50 per family. You may register your child online.

Registration will close July 1, 2022, so please register your children ASAP! Children in the community are also welcome, so feel free to invite your friends!
