Mother’s Day (May 12) is a complex holiday for many of us. This season can be challenging for many reasons, often ones we feel we must bear in private: infertility, pregnancy or child loss, a difficult relationship with our mother, or grief over the loss of a mother or mother figure. While these circumstances weigh heavily on our hearts, you do not need to bear them alone. Thursday, May 9, at 6:00pm, in the Chapel, we will lead a contemplative prayer service to lift up these stories and remind us of our shared lament and hope before God. The service will include responsive prayers, music, Scripture and blessing.
This service is open to the community. All are welcome, but we hope this space will be a particular balm to those of us who tread these tender paths.
