Rockmont is back! We had to pause this Labor Day tradition in 2020, but with a lot of advance planning, we were able to safely take 89 youth on retreat! Our theme this school year is “Common Ground.” We celebrated our return to Rockmont—a beloved place where we have built years of common memories—and reflected upon how our faith values of love, safety and acceptance shape our Youth Family. We launched our theme with discussions on how God’s common love for all people can give us the courage to walk into the world to seek common ground with others. The Youth Family left Rockmont with a renewed commitment to keep building common ground with each other and within our faith community and world. Stop by the Gaga Ball pit (adjacent to the AYMC Terrace Level parking) to see mosaic stepping stones our Youth created to express their visions of common ground!
We also had a blast enjoying all Rockmont offers: swimming in the lake, paddle-boarding, canoeing, fishing, basketball, hiking, campfire s’mores, sleeping in cabins with our friends, and eating way too many late-night snacks. Be sure to ask our Youth about their favorite Rockmont memories!
