Our group was split into the Red Team and the Blue Team. In addition to working on many mission projects, they enjoyed a day exploring Charleston and time at the beach. Many wonderful memories were made of spending time together and building our word of the week: Community. Here is how the trip was for our youth in their own words:

“The Red Team was very fortunate and was able to go to Neighbors Together to help serve and prepare lunches for those less fortunate.” —Julie Wagoner

“After volunteering today, we volunteered for dinner duty and made a DELICIOUS dinner for everyone. We made spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread and salad. We put our blood, sweat and tears into this meal, and everyone enjoyed it.”—Larsen Quattlebaum and Abby Cline

“The mission of Healing Farms was to help adults with special needs after graduating high school. For us, it’s an afterthought of ‘Oh, I’ll go to college’ or ‘Oh, I’ll get this job’ but after high school, for people with special needs, there really isn’t anywhere to go.” —Tigist Campbell and Brooklyn Osbourne

“We watched dolphins for about 20 minutes…it was a great experience and learning lesson to be thankful and appreciate what we have every day, and take nothing for granted.” —Kate Fuller and Leira Johnson

“We started off the morning walking through the Charleston market and looking at all of the cool and crazy things to buy.”—Nate Marshall and Wells Shelley

“We had our evening programming where we participated in an activity to “fix” a system of government like education or transportation. It was very interesting and made us think about ways we could improve things in Greenville even after our mission is over.”—Ava Grace Hart and Sara Lois Willingham
