During the week, the AYMC is known to many of us as a facility that hosts an assortment of health, fitness and wellness classes for our church community and the larger community of Greenville. This Saturday, our AYMC will host Pride Link. With their partners, PrideLink will be fulfilling its purpose to be an inclusive community where all can access health and wellness.
Pride Link’s mission is to improve the quality of life for all LGBTQ+ people in the Upstate of South Carolina. On Saturday, the LGBTQ+ community is invited to come hang out with friends, meet new people, access health services, and get connected to community resources. Pride Link’s Mobile Community Center brings social support, culturally competent services, and community resources to where people are in their community.
Across the Upstate, the LGBTQ+ community faces many barriers, such as distance, lack of transportation, and limited finances, when it comes to socializing with other LGBTQ+ folks and getting the services needed to live a full and healthy life. The AYMC at First Baptist is excited to be the host for Pride Link’s February Mobile Community to help provide these resources.
