Preschool

About Our Preschool Ministry

Our youngest are provided with the best care in order to insure that their first experiences in church are positive.

We want them to learn to trust God and the people of God. Preschoolers are provided with constant care and a variety of learning experiences which help them begin to learn who God is and how special they are to God.

Children through age 5 are cared for during all church-wide events. Sunday School classes for preschoolers are at 9:15 on Sunday mornings and their locations are on the Nursery Hall (C200) and B200, C300 and A312. After Sunday School, preschoolers remain in their rooms where they are cared for by nursery staff and/or volunteer parents during the worship hour.

As a part of the worship hour on Sunday mornings, four- and five-year-olds and their teachers attend their own worship service. It is held in the Carpenter Chapel and is led by Dr. Helen Lee Turner. These services include Bible stories, singing and worship education in the observance of the Christian year.

Expectant and new parents are served by Cradle Roll. This ministry makes a connection between the home and the church during this important time. Family Dedication services are held as a part of the morning worship service. An annual Breakfast for Parents is given to celebrate all the babies born during the past year.

Art Experiences for Spiritual Development in Preschoolers and Vacation Bible School take place during the summer.
Weekday education programs for preschoolers are provided by First Baptist Day School.
