Yesterday, we celebrated World Communion Sunday – such a wonderful picture of the inclusivity of God. All people from every race and creed are welcome at God’s table.
This week, we continue that theme by honoring the chlidren and those who seek to help them recognize their place in the work of the church. We are reminded on Children’s Sabbath that we should approach worship simply. It is so easy to complicate things – to think that we have to be in a certain frame of mind or have our hearts purified or any number of other things – but God allows us to simply be. Our worshp is accepted when, like a child, we come simply, ready to offer our gifts back to God.
