with Kendra Plating and Grayson Hiatt

Forum@First courses are open to all community members of any church affiliation or faith tradition. Courses meet in the Fellowship Hall from 9:30-10:15am on Sundays for 6 weeks at a time. The Forum program is an additional theological education option at FBG intended to grow community relationships and dive deeper into theological content you might find in a seminary curriculum.

We continue our fall courses with Intro to the Hebrew Scriptures, Part II. This course will be co-taught by Kendra Plating, Minister of Pastoral Care and Counseling, and Grayson Hiatt. The dates for this course are October 16-November 20. Kendra and Grayson’s course will be available to watch live and archived on the FBG website for later viewing. No special link or access password needed!
(Email Camille for access to video archives of Part I.)

Here’s a note from Grayson and Kendra:

Exile…the time in Jewish history when the majority of Israelites were removed from their lands and held in captivity in Babylon, then scattered across the globe. This terrible time of suffering for the Jewish people can also be viewed as one of the most important periods for religious revival and scriptural interpretation and revision. This time period results in the Hebrew Bible as we have it today. Join us each Sunday morning in the Fellowship Hall at 9:30am from October 16 through November 20 as we take you through the second half of the Hebrew Bible—the Prophets and the Writings. We’ll explore together the ways in which the Jewish people made sense of such suffering and God’s role in it.

Join us on October 16 for the first class of Intro to the Hebrew Scriptures, Part II!
