Whether partnering with GAIHN to welcome homeless families to our church, partnering with our sister congregation in Guanjay, Cuba to encourage the growth of the Patio Project, partnering with our neighbors in Nicholtown to provide quality summer camp, partnering with the Living Hope Mission in Cap Haitien, Haiti to support local schools and churches, partnering with local ministries through our annual Operation Inasmuch day or partnering in one of the many other opportunities we offer, missions at First Baptist Greenville is about people.
Missions at First Baptist Greenville encourages the development of individuals’ spiritual gifts as new ministries “bubble up” from the passions of members and their willingness to be servant leaders. Missions at First Baptist Greenville respects genuine reflection and the depth of experience we can have when we expand our comfort zones and get to know our brothers and sisters in other parts of the world, other parts of Greenville and within our church family. It celebrates that we can encounter God through these encounters with others.
Each month we highlight a local organization or church mission partner and collect items needed to support their ministry.
Please bring your donations to the collection boxes located throughout the church, where volunteers will collect and deliver them.
United Ministries Fruit DRIVE (thru!) @ FBC
Missing a few friendly faces? Wondering how the church will celebrate Jim’s birthday this year without a building filled with fruit? Wonder no more. This year, we’re taking our Fruit DRIVE thru the parking lot!
On September 20th from 1-4 pm, bring your fruit to the church for a Fruit DRIVE thru! Drive through the covered drive between the Rotunda and Fellowship Hall, stay in your car, and our socially distanced church volunteers will collect your fruit. Wave to Jim from the comfort of your car (instead of your couch!) to help him celebrate his birthday. Decorate your cars, make posters, play music! (Optional. DRIVE your fruit thru no matter the car detailing!)
Last year, the church donated 2430 cans of fruit! Each can makes a difference, bring what you can!
If you are not able to attend the DRIVE (thru!), you can always support the Fruit DRIVE in these other ways: https://tinyurl.com/uminfruit. We will continue collecting on Wednesdays 10am-6pm until further notice in the covered drive-through between the Rotunda and the Fellowship Hall. You may also deliver directly to United Ministries from 8am-noon Monday-Friday at 606 Pendleton Street.
