thebranch.12.20.21.onlineFor nearly 30 years, the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of South Carolina (CBFSC) has been investing in missions around our state. CBFSC achieves its mission commitments through innovative long-term partnership commitments, collaborative annual mission grants, and equipping the local church with project grants. Covenant Partners of CBFSC are Metanoia in North Charleston, Palmetto Works in Conway, Koinonia in Columbia, and Carolina Immigrant Alliance in Rock Hill. Annual grants represent organizations around the state in locations such as Greenville, Greenwood, Clinton, Bamberg, Denmark, Orangeburg and Calhoun, as well as supporting the advocacy work of the South Carolina Christian Action Council.
The annual mission offering for CBFSC is named for First Baptist Greenville’s very own Beverly Greer, who served for many years as the state Missions Coordinator and helped nurture some of the successful ministry efforts which are flourishing today. The incredible work of CBFSC reminds us that field personnel don’t just exist halfway around the world. There are dedicated individuals and organizations working right here in our own communities to live out the message of God’s love. As CBFSC is a direct beneficiary of the Lula Whilden World Missions Offering, portions of all donations stay right here in South Carolina and in Greenville. These local efforts are combined with the national and international work of CBF and the Alliance of Baptists, making our offerings reach around the globe. As we celebrate Lula Whilden, please remember to include this important offering in your year-end giving. It does make a difference near and far!
