From time to time, congregation members stop me on Sunday mornings or contact me during the week to ask about our CBF missions field personnel and what specific prayers we can pray for them. Others of you may be asking, what is CBF? CBF is the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, one of our three main Baptist affiliates for missions. Our church’s annual Lula Whilden World Missions Offering, along with a portion of our annual church budget, goes to support the ministry work of CBF, as well as the Alliance of Baptists (AOB) and CBFSC (Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of South Carolina). Through them and with them, we are able to minister around the world and very close to home.
Here are a few easy ways you can stay up to date on what is happening in the life of missions in CBF, AOB, and CBFSC. You can also find these affiliates on social media and follow them there for updates.
1) Subscribe to CBF’s weekly e-newsletter, which includes a link to Prayer Associates—personal updates and prayer requests from field personnel, as well as a list of birthdays of CBF field personnel, staff, chaplains and pastoral counselors to hold in prayer.
