As part of our June 9 worship service, we’ll be commissioning mission teams of our children and youth. We hope you’ll join us in blessing our young people and affirming their God-given gifts as they prepare to immerse themselves in God’s good work this summer. During our Mission Week, our children will be partnering with different helping organizations centered around creation care as well as journaling and reflecting on the connections they’re making between scripture and their own experiences in service to others.

In June, our high school youth will be serving with Youth Mission Co and Charleston Youth Mission in Charleston, SC. Charleston Youth Mission and Youth Mission Co are both organizations that strive to “look at the common threads, serve our neighbors, and reflect on God’s call for justice and equity for all.” The youth will be working at sites that deal with poverty, homelessness, and food insecurity. Also, throughout the summer our youth participate in MidWeek Missions & More when we serve with a local organization on Wednesday mornings from 9am-12noon. This summer we will be focusing on creation care as we serve and learn with our local organizations.

We are looking forward to an educational and impactful summer of mission and immersion for our children and youth! Join us in Worship on June 9 to bless and commission our mission teams for the summer!
