The Mission Backpack program at First Baptist provides weekend sustenance to students in underserved neighborhoods and vulnerable families throughout the school year. From procuring food items to packing them into bags and delivering them to schools, and finally placing them into the hands of students every Friday afternoon, this program relies on many hands and feet.
We are thrilled to announce that Elaine Barnhill will serve as Coordinator, taking over for Susan Shelley and Amanda Paton-Znak, whose leadership these last few years has been wonderful.
As Mission Backpack kicks off the 2024-25 school year and as the number of recipients and the cost of food continue to increase, we invite you to consider whether volunteering or contributing to Mission Backpack speaks to your calling at First Baptist Greenville. To explore volunteering opportunities, please email Elaine at elainebarnhill@gmail.com.
