Our congregation will serve as “virtual hosts” to United Ministries Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) families the week of March 21–28. Throughout the month of March, we will partner with UM to provide IHN participants much-needed cleaning supplies. Typically, IHN involves various religious organizations in the Greenville community taking turns to provide emergency shelter, food and fellowship to families who are experiencing homelessness. Though our church members normally contribute to this effort providing meals and staying the night with our guests, the structure of IHN has been forced to shift temporarily to avoid endangering anyone involved. Rather than using our church and other congregation partners’ buildings for emergency housing, those seeking emergency shelter are instead in separate apartments for the time being. Many of these families lack the necessary cleaning supplies to maintain these spaces well. This is where we would like to invite our whole congregation to help out by donating any of the following items throughout the month:
  • Paper towels
  • Multi-surface cleaners for kitchens and/or bathrooms
  • Toilet bowl cleaner (such as Ajax® or similar products)
  • Duster kits (such as Swiffer® or similar products)
Options to donate:
1) Bring to the church Reception Area Monday–Friday, 9am-5pm.
2) Order online and ship to:
