The FBG Greeters are in search of friendly faces to add to the Greeter team! Do you remember what it was like to walk through our Narthex doors for the first time? Can you think of a recent Sunday when you felt welcomed to Sunday School or worship? Odds are good that you encountered a member of our Greeter team! The Greeter team is the first line of hospitality on Sunday mornings. They are extroverts and introverts, established members and newcomers, all generations and styles. They have one thing in common: they want everyone at church to know they are welcomed and loved.

We have had several greeters retire or move, and we are looking to add new faces to our monthly rotation. Greeters are stationed at exterior doors around the church campus to open doors, say hello, and assist in answering any questions from visitors, new members, or anyone needing assistance. The time commitment is 30 minutes, once a month. Greeters serve on a rotating basis (for example, every 2nd Sunday of the month), and may choose to serve 9-9:30am or 10-10:30am. You can even sign up to serve as a team with a spouse or friend!

Curious to learn more? Want to see greeters in action or get more information before committing? All are invited to attend a Greeter Orientation on Sunday, October 23, 9-9:30am. We will meet in the Narthex (lobby outside the Sanctuary) at 9:00am to learn how to answer common visitor questions and help visitors navigate to various Sunday School areas. Anyone curious to learn how to get around the building is also welcome to attend! Email me with questions at camille.loomis@firstbaptistgreenville.com.
