We are delighted to welcome Cathy Goldfarb as the new Director of the Activities & Youth Ministry Center (AYMC)! With a deep passion for building relationships across all ages and a creative vision for expanding the AYMC’s ministry, Cathy is eager to ensure it remains a positive gathering place where all people can learn, grow and thrive.
A frequent visitor at First Baptist Greenville since her family moved to Greer nearly four years ago, Cathy has been actively attending worship and Sunday School for the past six months. As a proud mother of five, and married to her husband, Michael, for over 26 years, Cathy brings a deep understanding of and appreciation for family and community. Her 20 years of experience as an elementary school teacher, instructional coach, and professional development specialist reflect her lifelong passion for education and empowerment, committed to helping others reach their full potential.
Cathy is a fitness and sports enthusiast who, having recently undergone her own health transformation, knows firsthand the power of small, consistent habit changes and how they can completely change lives over time. The pursuit of holistic wellness, nourishing the physical, emotional, social, spiritual and intellectual needs of all who come through the doors, is at the heart of Cathy’s dreams for the AYMC. She is dedicated to expanding the AYMC’s reach and impact within the congregation and the broader community.

This may leave you wondering about Dante Gliatta. He was approached by a former employer with an offer he couldn’t refuse! Dante still works for us part-time and has been vital in getting Cathy acclimated to her new position. I am grateful for the work that Dante and Cathy are doing. It’s an exciting time to see the ways in which God will use Dante’s work and Cathy’s gifts to guide the AYMC into her next chapter of ministry.
