On the afternoon of July 24, the rain couldn’t keep away First Baptist Senior Adults and Neighborhood Partnership friends. The downpour let up just in time for the drive-through, socially-distanced frozen yogurt party, so we could see the smiling faces of friends—even behind the masks. The Senior Adult Committee gathered under the breezeway to hand out the TCBY frozen yogurt on trays and donned themselves in homemade sandwich boards of posters featuring pictures of smiling faces at activities and gatherings, along with sayings of encouragement. We would like to thank all of the volunteers, led by Jo Carson, and Nancy Kirby for making the sandwich boards. Thanks also to the Deatons and TCBY for bringing the frozen yogurt and serving. We can’t wait to fellowship in person again, but for now it’s like sunshine to the soul to have connections to our church family.
