As we have unpacked, we have also been decluttering and purging items we no longer use, which has given me the opportunity to deliver a couple of carloads of items to the First Baptist Annual Neighborhood Partnership Yard Sale. If you haven’t visited the yard sale preparation room, it is a sight to behold! The sheer volume of items is astounding and a reminder that we Americans, including me, are failing miserably at Jesus’ caution not to store up treasure on earth!

The atmosphere in the yard sale room is vibrant and cheerful, with our group of dedicated volunteers bustling about, their faces lit up with smiles, engaged in lively conversations and occasional bursts of laughter as they diligently price and prepare items for the upcoming sale.

For many years, First Baptist Greenville has held the Annual Neighborhood Partnership Yard Sale in the spring. Throughout the year, FBG volunteers collect furniture, office equipment, books, exercise equipment, silverware, china, toys and other household items to sell at the annual yard sale. Proceeds from the sale are used to support Neighborhood Partnership Missions, a ministry of FBG that includes helping with home renovation, handicap ramps, painting, yard work, and emergency needs in nearby communities.

The window for donating items to the yard sale has closed, but there is still time to volunteer for (https://firstbaptistgreenville.com/yardsale/) or shop at the yard sale. It will take place on Friday, March 8, from 4:00 to 7:00pm and Saturday, March 9, from 8:00am to 1:00pm.
