Though children (and teachers) may not be ready to admit it just yet, school will be back in session soon, meaning it’s time for the annual School Tools program through United Way of Greenville County! Each summer, United Way collects back-to-school items for children in the county whose families struggle to afford such purchases. This year, they have asked that organizations donate supplies to fill backpacks for students of one particular age range. Therefore, we will be collecting supplies for elementary school children across Greenville County. (To be clear, this differs from previous years when we have collected completed backpacks, as only individual supplies need to be collected this year.) Their requested items are listed below, so please contribute whatever you are able to help our local kids get off to a great start.

  • Spiral Notebooks
  • Folders with Pockets
  • Assignment Pads/Planners
  • Lined Paper (in reams)
  • Crayons
  • #2 Pencils and Erasers
  • Pencil Boxes
  • Glue Sticks or Glue
  • Scented Markers
  • Rulers
  • Safety Scissors
  • Packs of Facial Tissue
  • Antibacterial Hand Sanitizer
  • Disinfecting Wipes
  • Colored Paper (in reams)
  • Backpacks
  • Water Bottles
  • Masks

If you wish to donate, please bring your items from the list above to the church Reception Area any time throughout the month on Monday–Friday (9am-5pm), or any Sunday morning through July 31. Please contact Jennifer Craig with any questions.
