How Can Being Baptist Help Us Be Better Christians?

This deacons’ retreat is set for Saturday, February 10. Our retreat leader will help us explore our Baptist heritage and how embracing that heritage can be a positive influence on our Christian Faith. Breakfast is at 8:45 and we will conclude at noon. (Lunch is not included.)

The retreat will be held in the downstairs AYMC. Cost is $20/person.

Our retreat leader is Dr. Guy Sayles.

Guy Sayles served as a pastor for over thirty years, most recently at the First Baptist Church of Asheville, NC. He’s currently Assistant Professor of Religion at Mars Hill University, an adjunct faculty member at the Divinity School of Gardner Webb University, a consultant with the Center for Healthy Churches, a member of the Board of Directors of the Baptist Center for Ethics, and transitional pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Asheville. He is married to Anita Plunkett Sayles, also an ordained Baptist minister, and they have two grown children.
