The Internship Committee is excited to introduce three college students who will make up this summer’s Youth Mentoring Team: Colin Byrne, John Michael Dunn and Sam Ramsey. The Youth Mentoring Team is a program that provides an opportunity for college students to identify strengths, gifts, interests, and abilities; invest in our Youth Ministry and its members; and help create a sense of trust, respect, and bond between our youth and youth leaders.
I am finishing my freshman year at the University of South Carolina where I am in the process of changing my major to Exercise Science and focused on becoming a Physical Therapist. I have been attending First Baptist Greenville for a long time now and have been invested in this Youth Ministry since 6th grade. Since being in this youth group, I have made many friends and memories that I wouldn’t have made anywhere else. I am very excited to be coming back and being involved this summer and working with Mary Carol to help the youth have a great summer. I am also very happy that I will be working along side Sam Ramsey and John Michael Dunn, two people who I have gotten to be good friends with over the years. I cannot wait to make many more memories and friendships this summer.
– Colin Byrne
I am finishing my freshman year at Greenville Tech, where I am studying engineering design technology and hope to graduate in the spring of 2020 with an Associates Degree in Engineering Design Technology and a certificate in CAD Design softwares. I thoroughly enjoy Archery, 3D printing, and any outdoor activity. I’ve been a part of this Youth Family since I was in 4th grade, and I have loved every minute of being a part of this great community. Since the creation of the YMT program, I’ve wanted to be a part of this team, and I look forward to a productive and fun summer ahead.
– John Michael Dunn
I am finishing my first year at Columbia College of Chicago. I am a part of the Cinema Art and Science Producing program, and I really love it. I grew up in this church and have been able to build countless long-lasting relationships through it. This summer, I will be sharing the YMT position with my two good friends Colin Byrne and John Michael Dunn. It’s through the experiences in the Youth Family at First Baptist Greenville that I grew especially close with these two and the others among our grade. This summer, I want to make sure all of the youth get the chance to experience the same that I had in my years as a youth.
