I’ve never been comfortable asking favors of parishioners. I can’t remember asking any favors of you for the past two and a half years. I am going to ask a favor today… because this favor will benefit you as much as it will benefit me.

I would like for you to give me, the Sanctuary Choir, your fellow South Carolina Baptist family, a guest speaker and God the last Friday evening in March. On March 31, the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of South Carolina will celebrate our 25th Anniversary at First Baptist Greenville. Worship will begin at 7:00pm and will be led by our Sanctuary Choir (always phenomenal) and Rev. Joy Yee (Pastor of Nineteenth Avenue Baptist Church, San Francisco, CA; former National Moderator of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship; one of the most insightful and inspiring preachers I know; and… my best friend). I want the house full for these worship leaders. Guests will be here from Cooperative Baptist Churches throughout our state and visiting from other states. I want the house full for our guests. The leadership of CBF South Carolina – past and present will be with us. I want the house full for those who serve us. Within the context of worship, we will hear how our church and others have ministered in our state and abroad. I want the house full of people who celebrate generosity and growth.

You do not have to register to attend, but if you require childcare or would like to share a meal in the Fellowship Hall at 5:45 pm, registration is required and can be made at this site: https://cbfsc.org/news/general-assembly-2017

I’ve never been comfortable asking favors of parishioners. I can’t remember asking any favors of you for the past two and a half years. I am going to ask a favor today. I would love to have a Sunday morning crowd at CBFSC’s 25th Anniversary worship service. It would be a gift to all those participating in the service… a gift to me… and, of course, worship is always a gift to God.
