Running the Road with Roadrunners

Roadrunners at Callaway GardensSince our retirement, we have been able to participate more fully in the Roadrunner activities. We have been on overnight trips to Myrtle Beach, Old Salem (NC), Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain (GA) and the Little White House in Warm Springs (GA). We have enjoyed plays at Flat Rock Playhouse (Flat Rock, NC), Yount’s Center (Fountain Inn) and Abbeville Opera House (Abbeville).
Roadrunners at the Roost, Downtown GreenvilleMany of the trips to theaters have also included delicious meals at Kelsey’s, A Day in the Country (Hendersonville) or Yoder’s (Abbeville). We have enjoyed luncheon outings to Tommy’s Ham House, the Roost at the Hyatt, William’s Hardware and Bimini’s. We have travelled to Stone Soup (Landrum), the Walnut Lane Inn (Lyman), the Finn & Fowl (Greenwood), the Gray House (Starr), Grits & Groceries (Belton) and the wonderful Blue Willow Inn (Social Circle, GA).

Last fall, we ventured to Pretty Place and lunched in Brevard. We have even Roadrunners at Train Museumgone to the famous Daniel Boone Inn (Boone, NC). We have explored our local museums as well as the S.C. Botanical Gardens (Clemson) and the Earl Scruggs Center (Shelby). One of our most popular trips to Strawberry Hill is upcoming on August 3.
