Are you a one-time only movie-watcher or a repeater? I’m pretty much a “one time is plenty, thank you” guy, yet every Christmas season, my family and I watch the same movie: the 1970 movie version of the Leslie Bricusse musical “Scrooge” starring Albert Finney.

There are lots of movie retellings of Dicken’s “A Christmas Carol” out there, and they all have their strengths, but in my humble opinion, none have aged so well. Leslie Bricusse’s musical score and Albert Finney’s brilliant acting only add to the depth of the film. I’ve seen something new in it every year!

I want to share this film with you! We’re going to watch 1/6th of it each time we gather for MidWeek Fellowship between now and Christmas. Bring a friend who may not know you can have this much fun at church, and together let’s allow the “Spirits” to prepare us for an Advent season that is not only a celebration, but a new beginning.
