The Web site of Church Solutions Magazine has posted an article about the “green standards” of our new AYMC. Co-authored by Dave Benham and our own Chris Stone, partners with Neil-Prince Architects, it describes aspects of the vision and process by which we arrived at design and construction according to standards of the U.S. Green Building Council’s “Leadership in Energy and Environmental Engineering Design.” Those standards include “energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.” Chris and Dave put it this way: “Because it was important for First Baptist Church to practice what it preaches, and by working towards LEED® Certification, they are able to be a documented example of living God’s word to be good stewards of the earth.”
