Sunday, August 21, is Promotion Sunday in the life of our church. Parents of children and youth should watch for information relating to this in ministry area newsletters. To ensure that we are prepared for the new year of activities, all children birth through fifth grade need to be registered. This form can be completed online here and is good for Nursery, Sunday School, Preschool Ministry, Children’s Ministry, Children’s Choir, Mission Friends and Children on Mission. What a deal!
On Wednesday, August 24, Wednesdays at First will resume. The serving line for Wednesday night supper will open at 4:45pm; click here to see new meal options and make supper reservations. Reservations must be made by noon on Monday prior to meal. Since it is such a wonderful time of fellowship around the tables, go ahead and make a permanent reservation. You will want to be present at 6pm each week for MidWeek Fellowship as Jim leads us through the book of Leviticus. Read Rustlings for more information.
There are activities for members of every age. The youngest ones (birth-age 2) are welcomed in the Nursery beginning at 4:45pm. Children are to be fed before they are left with caregivers. Care extends through MidWeek Fellowship and children’s activities. Please pick up your children as soon as MidWeek Fellowship concludes.
Our children (age 3-grade 5) have missions and music activities beginning at 5:30pm and ending at 7pm when MidWeek Fellowship ends. From August-December, take your children to missions rooms at 5:30pm and pick them up from the music rooms following MidWeek Fellowship. In January, the sessions flip-flop with children attending music activities first.
Our youth (grades 6-12) gather after school in the AYMC, beginning at 3:30pm for Hang Time. At 4:45pm they have Supper around the Tables. (They may bring supper from the Fellowship Hall, home, take-out, etc.) At 5:15pm they will move to the Choir Room for Youth Choir. At 6pm they will move back to the AYMC for Bible Study.
Don’t miss out on this time with your church family!
